Profile During my last semester of undergraduate study, I was hired as copyeditor for Listener, a bimonthly, internationally distributed audio magazine focused on high-end audio equipment and electronics, as well as album reviews. After receiving my B.A. in geology with an emphasis on math and physics, I accepted the position of Managing Editor for Listener. I was responsible for editing and proofreading all articles and layouts before publishing, as well as transcribing and formatting interviews.

After two years, I left the magazine to pursue my M.A. in geophysics, which I am currently completing. As my graduate study funding, I was picked from a large pool of students to participate in a National Science Foundation grant called the Graduate K-12 Teaching Fellowship. During my two years as a Fellow, I was responsible for evaluating the elementary science curriculum and textbooks for the district, as well as writing teaching plans for use in the area’s schools. I also spent eight hours each week in the classroom, helping teachers to convey scientific principles to their students.

I am currently a freelance proofreader and editor for a publishing company, where I work on both fiction and non-fiction book manuscripts.
